Disposable Filters

For applications where reusable media are impractical Full-On can develop disposable filtration solutions. Disposable filters use a “depth” type medium rather than the traditional “surface” type. With a depth type medium, contaminants are captured in a funneling effect as they flow through a random maze of fibers. This depth media provide’s an excellent permeability and are capable of very high dirt holding capacity. Disposable filter media, being flexible and fragile, must be layered with wire cloth for structural support. This makes it possible to pleat the filter, which greatly increases the total surface area.

FOF uses many types and grades of filter media. These include cellulose, polymer fibers, glass fibers, plastics, non-woven and inorganic structures. We have developed disposable filtration applications to remove contaminating particles ranging from .01 microns up to 150 microns absolute. While such absolute micron ratings are useful indicators, beta ratios provide a better description of filter performance. Multi-pass tests through the filter media help determine its performance for any given individual application.
